Drumming rhythms of Africa

Ubuntu Ogogo host this fun afternoon in which Master Drummer, Fana Soro, will teach the rhythms of Africa in two drumming workshops.
“Yamo! Yamo!” means “Hello! How are you?” in Baoulé, one of the languages spoken in Côte d’Ivoire. A Djembe drum will be provided for the session or you may bring your own. Suitable for ages 6 to adult. A market place and refreshments will be available from 2-3 pm.
1. “Intro to Drumming”, 1-2 pm, for those with little previous experience.
2. “Drum Circle”, 3-4 pm, for those who have drummed before.

Funds raised by Ubuntu Ogogo go to support African grandmothers via the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, Stephen Lewis Foundation. These funds provide assistance with housing, home-based care, micro-credit loans, training in HIV & AIDS prevention, school uniforms and school fees.
