A staggering statistic

From a 2025 UN AIDS study…

Here’s a statistic from a recent UN AIDS study.

In countries where community-led partners of the Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF) work, women and girls account for 63% of new HIV infections.

The SLF partners with community organizations in sub-Saharan Africa to respond to the HIV epidemic in six key areas.

  1. Children and Young People
  2. Grandmothers
  3. Home-based Care
  4. Positive Living
  5. Ending Violence Among Women and Girls
  6. Health and Human Rights for LGBTIQ Communities

Gender inequality, health care barriers and issues around the full rights of women and girls continue to be challenges. We can all be a part of finding solutions to this epidemic and this recent statistic. The SLF continues to work where it matters.
