Reflections – We will not rest.

Gathering 2018

We will not rest until they can rest.

Another year has come to an end. As we reflect, we send holiday greetings and a heartfelt thank you to all of our supporters. Greater Van Gogos acts as an umbrella for groups in the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers Campaign throughout Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and the Sunshine Coast. (Photos below: SLF)

As we enter our 20th year, we remain focussed on our sisters in Africa. We are inspired by their continued strength as they live through the grief of losing their adult children to HIV & AIDS while supporting a generation of orphaned children. They are now developing their own advocacy networks that lobby governments for basic human rights.

Our region includes both large and small groups, each one dedicated to doing what they can. With your help, together we’ve raised well over $5 million by hosting engaging events, creating high quality crafts and baking for sale and collecting cash donations. Greater Van Gogos remain united in our commitment to build solidarity between African and Canadian grandmothers.

We welcome new members who are interested in fun, friendship and fundraising for a Campaign that’s based on the principles of social justice. On behalf of all our groups, we send warm wishes for the coming year.
