Gala celebration with Solidarity Quilt display!
Join us for this celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF) with the magnificent Solidarity Quilt on display. Music! Crafts market! Refreshments!
Hundreds of grandmothers across Canada and sub-Saharan Africa have created pieces that have been sewn together by over 300 grandmothers to tell the story of how women transform their communities. The finished quilt, Nurturing Generations Under the Canopy of Sisterhood, reminds everyone that with ongoing support, women, and older women in particular, play an important role in building a more equitable world.
This event is open to the public and is free.
When: Sat., Jan. 13, 1-4 pm
- 2 pm – Formal presentation by Megan Karges, SLF
