Celebration and inspiration…
On Sat., Sept. 17, our Regional Gathering re-ignited us to keep pushing forward in solidarity with grandmothers in Africa caring for children orphaned by AIDS. The day included… a smudging by a Stolo First Nation elder to bless the location and event; updates on grass-roots programs in Africa directly impacted by our work, by Megan Karges, Grandmothers Campaign Liaison; celebrations of our recent regional fundraisers; and various activities to solidify our connections.
Creativity and crafting skills of members were showcased at our very busy marketplace.
Proceeds from events and sales by our grandmothers groups are donated to the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, Stephen Lewis Foundation.
