This 50 or 100 km cycle ride raises funds in support of African grandmothers via the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, Stephen Lewis Foundation. These funds provide assistance with housing, home-based care, micro-credit loans, training in HIV/AIDS prevention, and school uniforms and fees for children in their care orphaned by AIDS.
